So, why do you want to join us?

Hopefully, the primary reason is that you want to be or already are a diver, and you want to join a club to dive with like-minded friends.

If you are a complete beginner and are feeling intimidated by the thought of mingling with experienced divers - well, don’t be. We can all remember ourselves being beginners! To train you, we assume only that you can swim, and are confident and competent in the water, stamina is far more important than speed or style.

Another good reason for joining is the social aspect of the club. We hold a training session followed by an informal meeting every week. The training takes place in a pool, and the socialising in a local pub afterwards.  Also, during the diving season we are fully active and go away on most weekends to coastal dive sites, discovering wrecks and the wonders of marine wildlife.

A pleasant evening will start with a talk and a video,  followed by a session in the swimming pool to experience scuba diving.

 

We will provide all the necessary equipment, just bring a swimming costume!!

PADI Divers Welcome!

 

A cross-over course facility is available to transfer your PADI qualification to the BSAC system. There is a nominal fee associated with the training pack necessary to bring the safety skills up to the required BSAC standard.

 

Training

One thing to bear in mind is that our training schedule is spread over about six to twelve months, we are able to offer you (by our fully qualified club instructors) excellent tuition. You will progress in each section safely and competently, completely at your own pace.

The BSAC dive qualification is recognised world-wide as one of the top syllabuses in dive tuition. We will start you off as “ocean diver” and are able to train you up to “advance diver” depending on what you want.

Costs

The cost to join the club is approximately £200 in which membership, (not only to our club but to all other BSAC clubs nationally) is included as well as insurance, free use of the pool, club equipment, free air, a monthly “Dive” magazine, a dive manual instructor pack and all instructing tuition for a year.
